About me and my practice

I have my own Private Practice based in Leigh on Sea in Essex.

I am trained in:

Psychodynamic therapy which is basically listening and focusing on what is going on currently for you but how the past may be impacting that.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy which is really good for anxiety and stress and looks at thought processes and how negative or irrational thoughts can affect our emotions and subsequently behaviours. This can be a really quick fix for some issues.

Transactional Analysis (Inner Child Therapy) which is looking at our childhood and how it affects the way we behave as adults. We often form beliefs about ourselves or set ourselves standards that arent helpful to us as adults.

I also have specific training in unhealthy relationships and domestic abuse.

I also Teach the Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling Skills at a Southend college.

Experience

I have completed a Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling Skills and a Practitioners Diploma in CBT.

I am trained in Psychodynamic, CBT, Humanistic and Transactional Analysis therapy and am an Accredited Member with the National Counselling Society (NCS).

During my training, I worked in a domestic violence centre and women's refuge and have completed a lot of training personally around unhealthy relationships and domestic abuse.

I am also a Counselling Tutor at Victoria Counselling Services, a Rape Crisis Counsellor and a Clinical Supervisor. I have also completed many other training courses to help me working with my clients, too many to list but some include:

Initial Consultation

During my initial consultation, I will explain how counselling with me works and establish why you are seeking counselling.

This is a very informal session, to help establish how counselling can help, build a lovely relationship and understand your needs.

Fees

My standard fees are £50 for a 50 minute individual session with me or £70 for Couples counselling.

My fees for Supervision are £40 for an hour or £75 for 1.5 hours. Discount offered for students.

I also have almost qualified students for £15.00 a session. The students need to complete 100 student hours to qualify, they are fully supported and supervised throughout.

When I Work

Monday to Friday - between 9 and 7pm (varies week to week).
